This handheld snap plier tool makes installing KAM Snaps (and other similar plastic snaps) easy! Snaps are commonly used on clothing, cloth baby diapers, bibs, towels, and other embroidery, craft, sewing and household projects, and this tool comes equipped with dies to handle snap sizes 20, 22, 24, and T5.

  • Instructions for Use:

    Test on scrap fabric prior to using on a garment. It is recommended to use at least 2 fabric layers to prevent tearout. 

    1. Gently pierce the prong of the cap through the fabric from the right side. When using a dense fabric, use the included awl to poke a hole. 
    2. Position the cap die on the pliers. Place the socket over the prong. 
    3. Firmly squeeze the pliers closed then release. The snap prong should be squashed down into a flat ball, wide enough to hold the socket or stud in position and flat enough to allow the snap set to close. 
    4. Repeat using a cap and stud to complete the fastener. 

  • Special Notes:

    How to Change the Die:

    1. Use the screwdriver to loosen the screw under the die.
    2. Insert the appropriate die.
    3. Tighten the screw just enough to keep it secure. 

    How to Change the Metal Shaft:

    1. Unscrew the top shaft screw; remove the spring.
    2. Pull off the rubber tip and slide the metal bolt out.
    3. Reverse the instructions to install the new shaft.
